Rather predictable result in Torino where ninth ranked Auxilium TO (12-12) defeated 11th ranked AV Cantu (10-14) 87-76 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Auxilium TO. AV Cantu was better in fourth quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Auxilium TO had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Giuseppe Poeta (191-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists and naturalized American guard Mirza Alibegovic (197-92) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Auxilium TO players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Tremmell Darden (194-81, college: Niagara) with 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import guard Alex Acker (196-83, college: Pepperdine) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. AV Cantu's coach Carlo Recalcati rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Auxilium TO moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Enel Brindisi. Loser AV Cantu keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Auxilium TO will face The Flexx PT (#10) in Pistoia in the next round. AV Cantu will play at home against Openjobmetis VA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
