Regular Season Round 24: Hapoel T-A - Maccabi K/G 99-83

Date: March 27, 2017
No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (12-12) beat at home bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G (4-20) 99-83. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Maccabi K/G was better in second period 30-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Tel-Aviv forced 19 Maccabi K/G turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Mark Lyons (185-89, college: Arizona, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who scored 29 points. International Tomer Ginat (202-94) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach Rami Hadar allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import power forward Curtis Kelly (204-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Maccabi Haifa. Maccabi K/G lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Hapoel Holon on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi K/G will play against Ironi Nahariya (#9) and hope to win that game.
