Regular Season Round 4: Durango - Mazatlan 84-86

Bottom-ranked Aguilas Doradas de Durango (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 86-84 loss to fourth ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (2-1) in Durango on Tuesday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. American power forward Taj Gray (204-84, college: Oklahoma) fired 34 points (!!!) for the winners. The other American import swingman Cliff Tucker (198-89, college: Maryland) chipped in 16 points and 4 steals. Four Lobos UAD Mazatlan players scored in double figures. Lobos UAD Mazatlan's coach Eric Weissling used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Martin Zamarco produced 24 points and American power forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Aguilas Doradas de Durango still closes the standings with four games lost. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will have a break next round. Aguilas Doradas de Durango will play again at home against Lobos UAD Mazatlan (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
