Regular Season Round 26: Lecco - Desio 83-55

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Lecco (16-10) outplayed at home 10th ranked Desio (11-15) 83-55 on Wednesday. Lecco made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Desio turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Lecco especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Desio was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Daniele Quartieri (195-87, agency: SPORTlab Agency) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Jacopo Balanzoni (203-93, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Lecco players scored in double figures. Eric Ruiu (202-97, agency: Players Group) replied with 16 points and center Filippo Politi (205-80) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Desio. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lecco moved-up to fifth place in B, which they share with Faenza. Loser Desio keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Lecco will face Sestu (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Desio will play against San Vendemiano and hope to win that game.
