Regular Season Round 26: San Miniato - Varese Robur 69-63

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Varese Robur (12-13) lost on the road to fifth ranked San Miniato (15-11) 69-63 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Guard Francesco Stefanelli (190-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Gabriele Giarelli (197-93, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Federico Bolzonella (184-84, agency: Players Group) replied with 17 points and guard Matteo Maruca (187-97) added 14 points in the effort for Varese Robur. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Miniato moved-up to fourth place in B. Loser Varese Robur dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. San Miniato will face Firenze Enic (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Varese Robur will play against Domodossola (#16) and hope to win that game.
