Regular Season Round 26: Bergamo - Vicenza 82-59

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Vicenza (7-19) was outleveled on the road by second ranked Bergamo (21-5) 82-59 on Wednesday. Bergamo outrebounded Vicenza 45-24 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized Argentinian Mario-Jose Ghersetti (201-81) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Guard Alessandro Panni (189-91, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Bergamo players scored in double figures. Bergamo's coach Cesare Ciocca felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Umberto Campiello (198-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Daniele Demartini (187-84, agency: Players Group) added 14 points in the effort for Vicenza. Bergamo maintains second position in B with 21-5 record behind leader Montegrano. Vicenza lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 19 games lost. Bergamo will face Faenza (#5) on the road in the next round. Vicenza will play against Milano Urania (#8) and hope to win that game.
