Date: March 30, 2017
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Puerto La Cruz where fourth ranked Marinos (4-6) beat 3rd ranked Bucaneros (9-7) 90-84 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was American point guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) who scored 16 points and 4 assists. The former international power forward Hector Romero (202-80, college: New Orleans) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Marinos' coach Ronald Guillen used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Tulio Cobos (197-86, college: Northeastern St.) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and international center Windi Graterol (204-86, agency: Pro Sports) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Marinos and four Bucaneros players scored in double figures. Marinos moved-up to third place, which they share with Guaros. Loser Bucaneros still keep top position with seven games lost. Marinos will face league's leader Cocodrilos in Caracas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bucaneros will play at home against Gaiteros and hope to win that game.
