Very expected game when 14th ranked Oleggio (9-17) lost on the road to fourth ranked Montecatiniterme (15-10) 70-66 on Thursday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Oleggio was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Guido Meini (188-79) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 5 assists. Power forward Alessandro Tabbi (205-94) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Montecatiniterme players scored in double figures. Dominican guard Shaquille Hidalgo (188-94) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Alessandro Spatti (204-95, agency: Octagon Europe) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Oleggio. Montecatiniterme moved-up to third place in B. Loser Oleggio dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Montecatiniterme will face Bottegone (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Oleggio will play against Fiorentina and hope to win that game.
