Regular Season Round 4: Botafogo F.R. - Brusque 91-53

Liga Ouro top team - Botafogo F.R. (7-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Brusque (0-7) in Rio de Janeiro 91-53. Botafogo F.R. made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Brusque turnovers and outrebounded them 45-34 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American guard Wesley Russell (193-93, college: Ohio Christian) who helped to win the game recording 7 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Arnaldinho Filho (187-78) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Russell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Guilherme Machado (175-86) replied with 17 points and swingman Durval Prado (200-92) added 7 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Brusque. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Botafogo F.R. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Brusque at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Botafogo F.R. will have a break next round. Brusque will play against Joinville (#3) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
