Regular Season Round 27: Valladolid - Albacete 73-75

Bottom-ranked Albacete managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses on Friday night. This time newly promoted Albacete edged ninth-ranked Blancos de Rueda in Valladolid 75-73. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Blancos de Rueda won fourth quarter 26-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for forward Eugenio Gomez (197-89) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Michael Torres (188-94) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Henri Wade-Chatman (188-92, college: Edinboro) answered with 21 points and power forward Daniel Astilleros (196-95) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Blancos de Rueda. Blancos de Rueda's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Albacete (7-20) moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Gandia. Blancos de Rueda at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Albacete is looking forward to face league's second-placed Cambados on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Blancos de Rueda will play against L'Hospitalet (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
