The game in Mazatlan supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Frayles de Guasave (4-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (2-3). Frayles de Guasave smashed Lobos UAD Mazatlan 120-99 on Friday. Frayles de Guasave made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game, while Lobos UAD Mazatlan only scored seven points from the stripe. Frayles de Guasave shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 58.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) who scored 25 points and 5 assists. The other American import forward Travis Franklin (200-88, college: Colorado St., agency: Interperformances) chipped in 30 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Mike Liabo (198-91, college: Tenn-Martin) who recorded 28 points and the former international swingman Jorge-Alfredo Casillas (196-90) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively. Four Frayles de Guasave and five Lobos UAD Mazatlan players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Frayles de Guasave have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hermosillo. Defending champion Lobos UAD Mazatlan keeps the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Guaymas. Frayles de Guasave will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will play again against the league's leader Frayles de Guasave (#1) and hope to secure a win.
