There was a surprise result when tenth ranked CB Guadalajara (12-12) beat at home higher ranked Tenerife Naut. (15-9) 82-72 on Saturday. Tenerife Naut. was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 28-17 charge of CB Guadalajara, which allowed them to win the game. CB Guadalajara shot 30 for 45 from the free-throw line, while Tenerife Naut. only scored ten points from the stripe. Tenerife Naut. was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Raul Lazaro (195-87) scored 23 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American CJ Dunston (196-94, college: Lancaster Bible) chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Cuban power forward Georffri Silvestre (202-79) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Ayoze Alonso (187-91) scored 13 points. Four Tenerife Naut. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CB Guadalajara moved-up to ninth place in Group B. Loser Tenerife Naut. keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. CB Guadalajara will face higher ranked Gran Canaria B (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
