Regular Season Round 27: Gandia - Zamorano 77-78

Date: April 1, 2017
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Zamorano and 15th ranked Gandia had identical 7-19 record. But Gandia was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Zamora 78-77 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 27-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Zamorano especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. It was a good game for American guard Chris Hansen (193-93, college: Idaho St.) who saved his team from a defeat with 28 points. French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Zamorano's coach Saulo Hernandez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Jose-Luis Otero (203-89) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Guinean forward Cheick-Sekou Conde (203-92) added 15 points in the effort for Gandia. The victory was the third consecutive win for Zamorano. They moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Tarragona. Gandia lost their seventh game in a row. Gandia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the bottom position with 20 games lost. Zamorano will face CB Tarragona 2017 (#13) at home in the next round. Gandia will play against Moron in MorĂ³n de la Frontera and hope to win that game.
