Regular Season Round 27: Herzogenaurach - Treuchtlingen 69-94

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Herzogenaurach (4-21) was outplayed at home by fourth ranked Treuchtlingen (17-8) 94-69 on Saturday. Treuchtlingen dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Herzogenaurach's 38. They outrebounded Herzogenaurach 40-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. Treuchtlingen looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for guard Tim Eisenberger (197-91) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Simon Geiselsoeder (189-91) helped adding 20 points and 8 rebounds. Five Treuchtlingen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Austrian swingman Michael Kaiser (195-82) with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Croatian point guard Vedran Nakic (184-89) scored 17 points and 5 assists. Treuchtlingen moved-up to second place in South-East, which they share with Vilsbiburg and Bad Aibling. Herzogenaurach lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 21 games lost. Treuchtlingen will face Jena II (#6) at home in the next round. Herzogenaurach will play against Schwabing (#7) and hope to win that game.
