Athinaikos forced 19 Kronos AD turnovers and outrebounded them 34-22 including 22 on the defensive glass. American forward Kaylon Williams (190, college: Oklahoma) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Anthoula Balta (174-87) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Athinaikos players scored in double figures. Australian forward Alex Sheedy (185-92, college: Fresno St.) replied with 27 points and Sofia Kyriakopoulou added 16 points in the effort for Kronos AD. Athinaikos have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-5 record having seven points less than leader Olympiacos. Loser Kronos AD keeps the eleventh place with 17 games lost. Athinaikos will face Niki Lefkadas (#6) at home in the next round. Kronos AD will play against Aris Thessal. (#10) in Thessaloniki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
