Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Chieti (9-18) lost at home to seventh ranked Verona (15-12) 83-79 on Sunday. Verona shot 60.5 percent from the field and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Verona especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for point guard Dawan Robinson (188-82, college: Rhode Island, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. Guard Michael Frazier (193-94, college: Florida) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Guard Trae Golden (188-91, college: Georgia Tech) answered with 20 points and 6 assists and swingman Cade Davis (197-88, college: Oklahoma, agency: Two Points) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chieti. Chieti's coach Maurizio Bartocci rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Verona maintains seventh place in A2 with 15-12 record. Loser Chieti keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Verona will face league's second-placed Treviso Basket at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chieti will play against the league's leader Virtus Bologna (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
