Regular Season Round 26: Palma II - Cerdanyola 86-72

There was no surprise in S'Arenal where 12th ranked Cerdanyola (6-17) was defeated by fifth ranked Palma II (13-10) 86-72 on Sunday. Palma II had a 11-0 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Jesus Gonzalez (186-98) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Carlos Poyatos (207-94) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Palma II players scored in double figures. Swingman Eric Forne (194-88) responded with 25 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and guard Albert Salat (191-91) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Palma II maintains fifth position in Group C-B with 13-10 record. Cerdanyola lost fourth consecutive game. Cerdanyola at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth place with 17 games lost. Palma II will face Igualada (#7) on the road in the next round. Cerdanyola will play against Castelldefels (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
