Regular Season Round 27: Catanzaro - Valmontone 72-67

There was an upset when second-best Valmontone (21-6) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Catanzaro (14-12) 72-67 on Sunday. It was a great evening for power forward Devil Medizza (198-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Nicolas Morici (193-94) helped adding 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Catanzaro players scored in double figures. Catanzaro's coach Orlando Pullano used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was naturalized Argentinian swingman Manuel Carrizo (198-80, agency: Players Group) with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Antonio De-Fabritiis (189-90) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Catanzaro moved-up to seventh place in B. Loser Valmontone keeps the second position with six games lost. Catanzaro will face higher ranked Cassino (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valmontone will play against the league's leader Napoli Cuore where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
