Prva Liga top team - MZT Skopje (5-0) added another victory to their record on Wednesday. This time they beat sixth ranked Kumanovo (1-4) 81-76. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-13. But Kumanovo won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Jure Lalic (211-86) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Xavier Thames (191-91, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 22 points. The former international guard Dimitar Karadzovski (190-84, agency: Global Sports Plaza) produced 30 points and 6 assists and international forward Marjan Janevski (203-88) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. MZT Skopje have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record. Kumanovo lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Feni Industries and Kozuv. MZT Skopje will meet Feni Industries (#4) in the next round. Kumanovo will play against Kozuv in Gevgelija and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
