Regular Season Round 10: Panteras - Marinos 98-82

Date: April 7, 2017
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Caracas where fifth ranked Panteras (5-13) defeated one of their biggest challengers Marinos (5-9) 98-82 on Friday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Panteras's pressure prevailed and they won that period 27-18 extending their advantage to 16 points. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) scored 25 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Anthony Kent (208-83, college: Ball St.) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Panteras players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Darrius Garrett (206-90, college: Richmond) scored 8 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Panteras maintains fifth position with 5-13 record. Marinos lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with nine games lost. Panteras will face league's second-placed Bucaneros in La Guaira in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Marinos will play on the road against Toros in Maracay and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
