Regular Season Round 28: Schwabing - Herzogenaurach 85-61

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Herzogenaurach (4-22) was outplayed on the road by seventh ranked Schwabing (14-12) 85-61 on Saturday. Schwabing dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Herzogenaurach's 24. Schwabing forced 19 Herzogenaurach turnovers and outrebounded them 57-35 including a 39-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Schwabing looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Herzogenaurach's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Schwabing made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Chris Wurmseher (192-97) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Fynn Fischer (204-99) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Coach Robert Scheinberg's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Croatian point guard Vedran Nakic (184-89) responded with 22 points and Austrian swingman Michael Kaiser (195-82) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Schwabing have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in South-East, which they share with Jena II. Herzogenaurach lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 22 games lost.
