Regular Season Round 32: Socar Petkim - Istanbulspor 93-74

Date: April 8, 2017
There was no surprise when 7th ranked Istanbulspor (19-13) was outplayed on the road by second ranked Socar Petkim (26-6) 93-74 on Saturday. Socar Petkim looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Istanbulspor's players. The best player for the winners was American point guard TJ Campbell (175-88, college: Portland) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 assists. Swingman Polat Kaya (197-86) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. American Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Elijah Johnson (192-90, college: Kansas) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Socar Petkim have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Eskisehir Basket. Newly promoted Istanbulspor keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Socar Petkim will meet Final Genclik (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Istanbulspor will play against Duzce Belediye (#15) and hope to secure a win.
