Regular Season Round 27: Igualada - Palma II 89-86

A very close game took place in Igualada between Igualada and Palma II. Seventh ranked Igualada (12-12) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Palma II (13-11). Igualada managed to escape with a 3-point win 89-86 on Saturday evening. It was a great evening for center Eduard Tejero (195-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Micky Garcia (206-85, agency: Dynamics Global Management) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Igualada players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Carlos Poyatos (207-94) with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Alberto Garcia (192-87) scored 15 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Igualada moved-up to sixth place in Group C-B, which they share with Sant Adria. Newly promoted Palma II keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Igualada will meet Castelldefels (#9) on the road in the next round. Palma II will play against the league's second-placed Pardinyes-L. (#2) and hope to secure a win.
