There was a small surprise in Istanbul where fifteenth ranked Pertevniyal (11-21) won against 13th ranked Gelisim (12-21) 68-62 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was forward Nedim Yucel (203-79) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds. Guard Cagdas Erdogan (188-88) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. Bosnian-Slovenian center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Berkay Kansu (191-97, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Gelisim's coach Arda Vekiloglu tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pertevniyal have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourteenth place. Gelisim lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 21 games lost. Pertevniyal will meet higher ranked Samsun (#8) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gelisim will play against Bursaspor (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
