Regular Season Round 27: Vichy Clermont - Charleville 83-61
Date: April 8, 2017
Bottom-ranked JA Vichy managed to get a tenth victory on Saturday night. This time they outleveled fourth-ranked Charleville-Mezieres 83-61. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 22-point difference suggests that JA Vichy is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Charleville-Mezieres. The best player for the winners was American point guard Dustin Ware (183-90, college: Georgia) who scored 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Charles-Henri Bronchard (200-82, agency: Court Side) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Ivorian center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso) who recorded 9 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Jordan Fouse (201-94, college: Green Bay, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JA Vichy (10-17) moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Boulogne and St Chamond. Loser Charleville-Mezieres keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Evreux. JA Vichy will meet league's leader JL Bourg on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Charleville-Mezieres will play against Saint-Quentin and hope to secure a win.
