There was an upset when higher ranked Montecatiniterme (15-12) was edged on the road by ninth ranked Piombino (14-14) 75-74 on Sunday. Montecatiniterme was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Camillo Bianchi (194-94) fired 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Alessio Iardella (193-88, agency: Players Group) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Marco Petrucci (195-92) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and point guard Guido Meini (188-79) added 9 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Piombino maintains ninth position in B with 14-14 record. Newly promoted Montecatiniterme dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. Piombino will face league's leader Moncalieri on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
