Regular Season Round 54: Gunma - Iwate Big Bulls 78-68

B League D2 top team - Gunma (34-18) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (13-39) 78-68. It was a great shooting night for Gunma especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) notched 19 points to lead the effort and American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. Gunma's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga) did not help to save the game for Iwate Big Bulls. Point guard Shota Onodera (183-94) added 20 points. Gunma maintains first position with 34-18 record. Loser Iwate Big Bulls keep the sixth place with 39 games lost. Gunma will meet Cyberdyne IR (#4) in the next round. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Yamagata and hope to secure a win.
