Regular Season Round 28: Joventut - Gran Canaria 86-72

We should mention about the upset which took place in Badalona, where higher ranked Gran Canaria (18-9) lost to fourteenth ranked Joventut (9-18) in a road game 72-86. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Gran Canaria. The game was mostly controlled by Joventut. Gran Canaria was better in fourth quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Joventut forced 20 Gran Canaria turnovers. The winners were led by Jamaican center Jerome Jordan (215-86, college: Tulsa) who scored that evening 18 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian forward Luka Bogdanovic (206-85) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Even 23 points and 5 rebounds by American-Slovakian swingman Kyle Kuric (193-89, college: Louisville) did not help to save the game for Gran Canaria. FYR Macedonian-American point guard Bo McCalebb (178-85, college: New Orleans) added 12 points for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Joventut moved-up to thirteenth place. Gran Canaria at the other side dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Joventut's next round opponent will be Zaragoza (#16) on the road.
