Regular Season Round 27: Nancy - Chalon 74-106
Date: April 11, 2017
Very predictable result when second ranked Chalon/Saor (20-7) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Sluc Nancy (6-21) 106-74 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Chalon/Saor led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Sluc Nancy's 32. They outrebounded Sluc Nancy 41-24 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chalon/Saor looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Cameron Clark (201-91, college: Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) helped adding 20 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. The best for the losing side was American-Montenegrin point guard Brion Rush (186-84, college: Grambling St., agency: Three Eye Sports) with 15 points and 8 assists and Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Five Chalon/Saor and four Sluc Nancy players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Chalon/Saor. They maintain second place with 20-7 record having four points less than leader Monaco. Sluc Nancy lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. Chalon/Saor will face Le Portel (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sluc Nancy will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque (#7) and hope to win that game.
