Very expected game when 17th ranked Saint Chamond (10-18) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked SPO Rouen (13-14) 85-77 on Friday. Worth to mention a great performance of Icelandic Haukur Palsson (197-92, college: Maryland) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists and swingman Gaylor Curier (197-92) who added 18 points during the contest. At the losing side naturalized Ivorian swingman Guy-Landry Edi (202-88, college: Gonzaga, agency: Promotex) responded with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (205-83) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Four SPO Rouen and five Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. SPO Rouen moved-up to eleventh place. Saint Chamond lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Vichy Clermont and Boulogne. SPO Rouen will meet at home Chorale de Roanne (#13) in the next round. Saint Chamond will play against ADA Blois and hope to secure a win.
