Regular Season Round 28: Provence Basket - Evreux 108-73
Date: April 14, 2017
Rather predictable result in Fos-sur-Mer where second ranked Provence Basket (19-9) outscored 5th ranked ALM Evreux (15-13) 108-73 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Provence Basket. ALM Evreux managed to win fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Provence Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to ALM Evreux's 40. They outrebounded ALM Evreux 36-22 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Provence Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by ALM Evreux's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Nigerian Derrick Obasohan (198-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 29 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and American swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) who added 11 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Provence Basket players scored in double figures. Provence Basket's coach Remi Giutta felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized Ivorian forward Remi Dibo (201-91, college: W.Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Corin Henry (178-88, college: Tarleton St., agency: Octagon Europe) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Provence Basket maintains second position with 19-9 record behind leader Bourg. Loser ALM Evreux dropped to the seventh place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Poitiers. Provence Basket will meet Poitiers (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. ALM Evreux will play against Denain Voltaire and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
