Kataja outgunned Helsinki Seagulls to secure 1-0 lead in the semifinal series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-24. But Helsinki Seagulls won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
