Regular Season Round 28: Gravelines - Nancy 72-83
Date: April 15, 2017
Bottom-ranked Sluc Nancy managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the four-game losing streak. This time they won against seventh-ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque 83-72. It looked good early as Gravelines-Dunkerque took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sluc Nancy had a 21-16 second period charge getting the lead and Gravelines-Dunkerque was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-83. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Elton Brown (206-83, college: Virginia) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists. American-Montenegrin point guard Brion Rush (186-84, college: Grambling St., agency: Three Eye Sports) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Four Sluc Nancy players scored in double figures. American forward Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Kyle Gibson (196-87, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: BeoBasket) added 20 points in the effort for Gravelines-Dunkerque. Gravelines-Dunkerque's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sluc Nancy maintains eighteenth position with 7-21 record. Gravelines-Dunkerque at the other side keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Sluc Nancy will play against higher ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#9) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
