There was a surprise result in Pamplona where twelfth ranked Zamorano (10-19) defeated higher ranked Navarra (15-14) 72-62 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-62. Zamorano made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Navarra turnovers. The best player for the winners was French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian-Jamaican guard Aaron Redpath (193-92, college: McMaster, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 20 points. Forward Adrian Garcia (201-85) produced 9 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Adrian Fuentes (183-87) added 8 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zamorano have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Zamorano maintains twelfth place with 10-19 record. Loser Navarra keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Zamorano will face Albacete (#14) at home in the next round.
