Regular Season Round 29: Zaragoza - Joventut 71-69

A very close game took place in Zaragoza between Zaragoza and Joventut. Sixteenth ranked Zaragoza (9-19) got a very close home victory over 13th ranked Joventut (9-19). Zaragoza managed to escape with a 2-point win 71-69 in the game for the fourteenth place. Joventut was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 18-14 charge of Zaragoza, which allowed them to win the game. Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) nailed 22 points for the winning side and Tongan-New Zealand forward Isaac Fotu (203-93, college: Hawaii) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds. International swingman Alberto Abalde (202-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and the former international swingman Sergi Vidal (199-81) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Joventut in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Joventut's coach Diego Ocampo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zaragoza moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with defeated Joventut. Zaragoza will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Joventut will play against RETAbet BB (#9) and hope to secure a win.
