Regular Season Round 29: Albacete - Agustinos-Leclerc 81-63

We should mention about the upset which took place in Albacete, where higher ranked Agustinos-Leclerc (13-16) lost to fifteenth ranked Albacete (9-20) in a road game 63-81. It looked good early as Agustinos-Leclerc took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Albacete had a 19-8 second period charge getting the lead and Agustinos-Leclerc was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-81. Albacete brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Guard Michael Torres (188-94) nailed 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American guard Kris Davis (188-93, college: SIU Edwardsville) accounted for 18 points and 6 assists. Five Albacete players scored in double figures. Senegalese forward Lamine Dieng (203-92, college: Pittsburg St.) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Jose Medina (185-93) added 8 points and 4 assists respectively for Agustinos-Leclerc in the defeat. Agustinos-Leclerc's coach Angel Jareno tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Albacete have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Tarragona and L'Hospitalet. Agustinos-Leclerc at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Albacete's next round opponent will be higher ranked Zamorano (#12) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
