Regular Season Round 29: Granada - L'Hospitalet 83-75

There was no surprise when 13th ranked L'Hospitalet (9-20) was defeated on the road by third ranked CB Granada (21-9) 83-75 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-12. But L'Hospitalet won second period 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Romanian power forward Rares Uta (211-97) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Gabriel Diaz-Morera (196-89) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian swingman Goran Vucicevic (195-90) added 20 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. CB Granada have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. L'Hospitalet lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. CB Granada will face Blancos de Rueda (#7) in Valladolid in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. L'Hospitalet will play at home against Fontedoso Carrefour (#5) and hope to win that game.
