The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Siauliai's (6-27) road loss to eighth ranked Dzukija (9-24) 51-69 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Dzukija. Siauliai managed to win third quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Siauliai 54-40 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Karolis Guscikas (205-92, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Spanish guard Alejandro Hernandez (189-90) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Dzukija's coach Andrej Urlep used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Tomas Lekunas (201-93) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Dzukija maintains eighth place with 9-24 record. Loser Siauliai dropped to the bottom. They share the position with Nevezis. Dzukija will meet higher ranked Juventus (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Siauliai will play against the league's leader Zalgiris (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
