Regular Season Round 34: Siauliai - Zalgiris 71-93

LKL top team - Zalgiris (31-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Siauliai (6-28) 93-71. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris. Siauliai was better in fourth quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zalgiris players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. German power forward Isaiah Hartenstein (211-98) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international guard Edgaras Ulanovas (197-92) chipped in 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side swingman Tomas Lekunas (201-93) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) scored 12 points and 7 assists. Five Siauliai players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zalgiris have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 31-3 record. Siauliai at the other side stay dead last with 28 lost games. Zalgiris will play against league's second-placed Lietuvos rytas in Vilnius in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Siauliai will play at home against Vytautas (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
