Second Stage Round 6: ZTE KK - Kormend 102-81

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Kormend (21-10) against fourth ranked ZTE KK (20-11) on Thursday night. Visiting Kormend was crushed by ZTE KK in Zalaegerszeg 102-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kormend. The game was mostly controlled by ZTE KK. Kormend was better in second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. ZTE KK outrebounded Kormend 48-25 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American-Puerto Rican point guard Emanuel Ubilla (188-86, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: Court Side) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the effort and the former international forward Zsolt Szabo (202-86) supported him with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Five ZTE KK players scored in double figures. ZTE KK's coach Tamas Bencze felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 25 points and 5 rebounds by American-Liberian guard Lasan Kromah (198-91, college: Connecticut) did not help to save the game for Kormend. American guard Lenzelle Smith-Jr (193-91, college: Ohio St.) added 17 points and 5 rebounds. ZTE KK moved-up to third place, which they share with Falco KC. Kormend at the other side keeps the second position with ten games lost. ZTE KK will play against Szolnok (#5) in Szolnok in the next round. Kormend will have a break next round.
