Regular Season Round 28: Santfeliuenc - Calvia 84-92

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Santfeliuenc (7-18) lost to second ranked Calvia (17-8) in Sant Feliu 84-92 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Santfeliuenc won third quarter 28-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Calvia won last quarter 24-18. They made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for forward Gabriel Torres (198-89) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Ivan Matemalas (194-80) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Alberto Farfan (193-91) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and guard Lluis Molina (190-85) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Santfeliuenc. Four Santfeliuenc players scored in double figures. Santfeliuenc's coach Mateo Rubio gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Calvia maintains second position in Group C-A with 17-8 record having four points less than leader Chantada. Santfeliuenc lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 18 games lost. Calvia will face Sant Nicolau (#11) in Sabadell in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Santfeliuenc will play on the road against Barna in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
