Regular Season Round 29: Stal Ostrow - Stelmet ZG 90-85

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ostrow Wlkp.. Third ranked BM Slam Stal faced second-ranked Stelmet. Host BM Slam Stal (21-10) defeated guests from Zielona Gora (23-8) 90-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Stelmet. Stelmet was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Aaron Johnson (173-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 assists. His fellow American import swingman Marc-Antonio Carter (191-85, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American point guard James Florence (185-88, college: Mercer, agency: Three Eye Sports) answered with 15 points and 6 assists and Montenegrin Nemanja Djurisic (203-92, college: Georgia) added 18 points in the effort for Stelmet. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BM Slam Stal maintains third place with 21-10 record having just three points less than leader Anwil. Defending champion Stelmet keeps the second position with eight games lost. BM Slam Stal will play against Energa Czarni (#8) in Slupsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Stelmet will play at home against Rosa (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
