The most exciting game of round 27 in the NBL took place in Plovdiv. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-best Academik Plovdiv (16-8) to fourth ranked Rilski (14-10) 83-80 on Saturday evening. Rilski dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Academik Plovdiv's 38. It was a great evening for American forward DJ Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Four Rilski players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St., agency: Octagon Europe) with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks and American point guard Oscar Bellfield (187-90, college: UNLV) scored 8 points and 14 assists. Rilski maintains fourth place with 14-10 record, which they share with Balkan. Academik Plovdiv at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost.
