Regular Season Round 28: Quart - Muro Basquet 82-90

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Quart (17-7) against ninth ranked Muro Basquet (11-14) on Saturday night. Host Quart was defeated by Muro Basquet in a tough game in Quart 82-90. Quart was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 47-35 second half run of Muro Basquet. American guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) fired 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Andreu Adrover (184-95) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Givens is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American-Uruguayan center Brad Kanis (218-83, college: Grand Canyon, agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced 18 points and point guard Jordi Bataller (183-86) added 8 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Five Muro Basquet and four Quart players scored in double figures. Quart's coach Albert Brea let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Muro Basquet moved-up to eighth place in Group A-A, which they share with Burgos and Valle de Egues. Quart at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. Muro Basquet's next round opponent will be Andorra II (#11) at home. Quart will play against Valls Nutrion (#8) and hope to win that game.
