Regular Season Round 28: Palma II - Pardinyes-L. 72-79

Rather predictable result when second ranked Pardinyes-L. (20-5) won against 5th ranked Palma II (13-12) in S'Arenal 79-72 on Saturday. Palma II was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Pardinyes-L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for forward Javier Mendiburu (197-80) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Estonian Kregor Hermet (204-97) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Carlos Bustamante (200-88) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and guard Alberto Garcia (192-87) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Palma II. Five Palma II players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pardinyes-L. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group C-B with 20-5 record behind leader Chantada. Newly promoted Palma II keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Pardinyes-L. will face Castelldefels (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Palma II will play against Barbera (#4) in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
