Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked GS Larissas (5-23) lost to sixth ranked Ethnikos (15-13) in Piraeus 71-88 on Saturday. Ethnikos made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Ethnikos outrebounded GS Larissas 45-30 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by center Kostas Macheras (205-85) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds and swingman Nikos Kokkalis (198-85) supported him with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Ethnikos' coach Vangelis Vlahos used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 26 points and 7 rebounds by forward Anastasios Spyropoulos (204-95, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for GS Larissas. Forward Sotiris Gioulekas (203-79) added 19 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Ethnikos maintains sixth position with 15-13 record, which they share with Holargos.
