There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Alcobendas (12-15) was edged by thirteenth ranked Estudiantes B (8-20) in Madrid 67-66 on Saturday. Alcobendas was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for point guard Juan Llorente (180-93) who helped to win the game recording 28 points. Swingman Alex Tamayo (194-0) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Point guard Hector Jimenez (183-94) replied with 10 points and 5 rebounds and forward Miguel Young (200-90) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Alcobendas. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Estudiantes B maintains thirteenth position in Group B with 8-20 record. Loser Alcobendas dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. Estudiantes B will face higher ranked La Roda (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
