We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Desio (14-16) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Padova (14-16) 72-65 on Saturday. Padova made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Naturalized Dominican guard Jean-Carlos Canelo (188-89, agency: Interperformances) scored 17 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Claudio Nobile (206-82, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Padova's coach Massimo Friso allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was forward Marco Torgano (199-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) with 34 points (!!!) and center Filippo Politi (205-80) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Padova moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with defeated Desio.
