Regular Season Round 27: Cactus Tbilisi - Olimpi 82-79

Sixth-ranked Olimpi (9-17) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked Cactus Tbilisi (13-14) on Saturday. Cactus Tbilisi managed to secure only three-point victory 82-79. However their fans expected easier game. Olimpi was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Cactus Tbilisi forced 23 Olimpi turnovers. It was a good game for American center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The former international swingman Beqa Chikviladze (196-91) contributed with 13 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Cactus Tbilisi players scored in double figures. American guard Tre Burnette (196, college: S.Dakota) answered with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international guard Revaz Rogava (191-93) added 19 points and 9 assists in the effort for Olimpi. Olimpi's coach Leonid Ivatin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cactus Tbilisi have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Rustavi. Olimpi at the other side keeps the sixth position with 17 games lost. Cactus Tbilisi is looking forward to face Energy Invest (#3) in Rustavi in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Olimpi will play at home against Batumi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
