The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Sakarya BSB as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sakarya BSB smashed their biggest opponent Socar Petkim in Sakaraya 90-65. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Socar Petkim. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Sakarya BSB made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Center Hakan Yapar (202-84) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Sakarya BSB players scored in double figures. American point guard TJ Campbell (175-88, college: Portland) replied with 22 points and 4 assists and Bosnian power forward Kenan Bajramovic (206-81) added 13 points (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Socar Petkim. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sakarya BSB have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Eskisehir Basket. Socar Petkim at the other side dropped to the third place with seven games lost.
